Job Summary
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BSc Agric (Agronomy/Horticulture) or relevant four-year BSc degree in Agriculture/Soil Science (relevant three-year degree and a relevant Hons) Less than 5 years experience Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing) Must own a pickup truck (bakkie) SKILLS & CAPABILITIES REQUIRED Working understanding of agronomy/horticulture crops, precision ag, soil science, and plant nutrition. Ability to market and sell products and services. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment as well as on your own. Computer literate Attention to detail and well organised. Work well under pressure and deadline-driven. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Advise clients on plant nutrition and soil sciences to optimise yield and quality, and to enable them to make better decisions by: Providing technical recommendations to customers based on various analyses (soil, leaf, etc.), Building and maintaining relationships with customers through regular on-site visits to secure repeat business, Establishing and positioning yourself as a trusted partner, Identifying and implementing business opportunities to grow and expand ATs market share, Marketing and selling products and services, Preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients, Gaining extensive knowledge related to the use and application of the companys products within a specific geographic location and crop types. Actively partaking in research and development (R&D) initiatives (including field trials) to facilitate continuous product improvement, Keeping up to date with industry trends, norms, and developments, Compiling sales budgets in collaboration with Senior Agriculturists or Business Development Managers and meeting sales budget, Assisting Senior Agriculturists or Business Development Managers with programmes/development of presentations/research etc. when necessary, Compiling programmes for approval by a SACNASP registered Agriculturist, Maintaining financial and personal administrative records.
