• Execute mechanical engineering design activities in compliance with project procedures, client specifications, and national standards.
• Lead and supervise design teams, reviewing and approving their work.
• Develop detailed first-principle calculations, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
• Conduct plant audits, troubleshoot operational issues, and provide optimization solutions.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, design reviews, HAZOP studies, and technical investigations.
• Review supplier quotations, drawings, and documentation from a mechanical engineering perspective.
• Prepare operating manuals, technical proposals, and engineering documentation.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety legislation and ISO9001 standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement in design workflows and standards.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical design within oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
• Professional registration with ECSA.
• Strong technical knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and stress analysis.
• Familiarity with national and international standards (NFPA, API, SANS).
• Proficiency in MS Office, design software (e.g., AFT Fathom, AFT Impulse), and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and mentor engineering teams.
