About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our Luxury Lodge in Ladysmith, Kwa-Zulu Natal. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals that meet our guests’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals to high standards, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols
• Manage kitchen staff, including training and development, to ensure efficient service delivery
• Implement menu planning, costing, and waste reduction strategies to optimize resource utilization
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory, ordering, and stock control
• Collaborate with the lodge’s management team to develop and implement written control documents and training manuals
• Lead by example, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years previous Head chef experience in a 4/5-star environment (Essential)
• Previous lodge experience highly beneficial
• Food Hygiene and professional cooking qualifications (Essential)
• Good understanding of food and wine trends
• Knowledgeable of all dietary and religious requirements
