About the Role
A growing small animal veterinary hospital is seeking a strong Practice Manager to take full ownership of the non-clinical operations. This role focuses on building structure, improving systems, and driving operational and financial performance. The successful candidate will step into an environment where processes, reporting, and accountability need to be strengthened.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all non-clinical operations within the practice.
- Build and formalise operational systems, processes, and workflows.
- Introduce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and improve front-of-house and client experience.
- Oversee stock control, procurement, and supplier relationships.
- Implement financial reporting, cost control, and margin tracking.
- Improve debtor management and cash flow processes.
- Introduce Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance tracking across the business.
- Clarify roles, responsibilities, and accountability structures.
- Manage staff scheduling, performance, and day-to-day team issues.
- Support recruitment processes and team development.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with partners on operational and strategic execution.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in an operational management role.
- Proven experience building or improving systems and processes.
- Strong financial understanding (budgets, margins, cost control, cash flow).
- Experience managing teams (10 staff).
- Comfortable working in an environment with limited structure.
- Confident communicator able to manage performance and difficult conversations.
