Cape Town City Centre: Scrum Master

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join a dynamic technology and delivery environment, supporting Agile delivery teams across strategic digital, technology, and business transformation initiatives in Cape Town City Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including: Daily Stand-ups Sprint Planning Sprint Reviews Retrospectives Backlog Refinement sessions
  • Support Agile teams in delivering business and technology initiatives
  • Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement
  • Remove impediments and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and blockers impacting delivery
  • Drive transparency across delivery through reporting, metrics, dashboards, and team health indicators
  • Prepare and present regular delivery reports, sprint metrics, RAID updates, and progress dashboards to stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Track sprint progress, team velocity, burn-down/burn-up metrics, and delivery outcomes
  • Monitor delivery risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring accurate reporting and escalation where required
  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams, Architects, and Delivery Managers to ensure alignment and successful execution
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and high-performing Agile team culture
  • Support release planning, prioritisation, and roadmap alignment
  • Ensure adherence to governance standards, reporting frameworks, and enterprise Agile practices

Requirements

  • 5 years experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise environments
  • Proven experience delivering technology and digital projects within financial services, insurance, banking, or large corporate environments
  • Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams
  • Experience supporting multiple squads and cross-functional teams
  • Strong reporting and governance experience, including: Sprint reporting Delivery dashboards RAID management Executive updates Agile metrics and KPI reporting

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our financial services client in Belville, Cape Town City Centre. As a servant leader, you will play a crucial role in enabling teams, improving delivery flow, and driving Agile maturity across multiple cross-functional teams within a larger product ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and enable cross-functional teams to become empowered, self-managing units
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews, and flow-based cadences
  • Partner with Product Owners to maintain healthy, outcome-focused backlogs
