The Assistant Farm Manager will support the full spectrum of operational, mechanical, and infrastructure requirements across a large, multi-faceted farm environment. This role demands strong leadership, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to coordinate diverse activities ranging from road and water infrastructure, mechanical and electrical maintenance, farming operations, wildlife support, and health & safety compliance. The ideal candidate is practical, technically skilled, and able to work independently while supporting the Farm Manager in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Oversee general farm maintenance, buildings, roads, fencing, and infrastructure. Conduct daily checks and repairs on waterholes, reservoirs, pipelines, solar & electrical pumps. Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs on farm machinery (tractor, TLB, equipment). Assist with field preparation, planting, orchard work, slashing, watering, harvesting, and game/wildlife support. Manage staff schedules, supervise farm workers, and support training. Ensure Health & Safety (OHSA) compliance and maintain documentation. Coordinate contractors, service providers, and maintenance projects. Support the Farm Manager with budgeting, planning, and operational oversight. Key Requirements Strong experience in farm operations and maintenance. Competent with tractors, TLB, bulldozer, forklift, excavator, chainsaws, and brush cutters. Skills in welding, steelwork, fabrication, plumbing, and basic electrical work. Experience installing and maintaining solar pumps, water systems, and pipelines. Knowledge of pesticides/hazardous chemicals handling. Certified Professional Hunter & Guide and wildlife handling experience. Leadership ability, problem-solving skills, and comfortable working in remote environments. ????????????
