About the Role

Join our team at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a world-class producer of Chrome Ore in the Limpopo Province. As a Forklift Driver, you will be an integral part of our operations, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the mine.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the Forklift in a safe manner and tasks related to stores control as instructed by the supervisor ensuring all duties are performed as instructed.
Inspect equipment before use according to a standard operating procedure and checklist to ensure functionality and complete checklist.
Equipment is inspected and recorded in the inspection list at beginning of shift.
Operate forklift according to applicable process, procedure, and method.
To operate to specified limits of mechanical ability to maximize work life while adhering to all safety regulations, processes, and operating procedures applicable to a specific work area.
Loading, transporting, and off-loading of materials using applicable forklift (utility per type of item, i.e., pallet/bin/holder/casket).
Ensure that item is secured before transportation.
Items are shifted according to procedures and safety standards to prevent damages and accidents.
Report any defect to direct Supervisor during or after use.
Submit diesel readings for machinery.
To ensure safe sorting and stacking of material that is off-loaded at a designated area.
At the beginning of the shift collect the Forklift key from Engineering department and sign for collection.
At the end of the shift ensure safe parking of the Forklift and return the key to Engineering department.
Do daily first-line maintenance to forklift as per maintenance schedule.
Clean forklift after use according to prescribed process, procedure.
Perform housekeeping duties when required.
Perform ad-hoc duties whenever required.

Requirements

Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.
Forklift Licence.
Cod 08 (B) Drivers Licence.
1 year practical Forklift Driving Experience.
1 year practical Storeman experience.
