About the role
The position is responsible for assisting in managing events and implementing the communication and marketing strategy of the Chamber.

Key Performance Areas:

Event Management
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Chamber events.

• Assist with logistics such as RSVP management, venue liaison, branding materials, and event setup.
• Maintain the Chamber’s event calendar and provide support with post-event communication and follow-up.
• Coordinate with suppliers, service providers, and guest speakers where necessary.

Database Management
Maintain and update contact databases of members, partners, and stakeholders.

• Ensure all contact details are current and correctly categorized.
• Assist in segmenting contact lists for communications and invitations.
• Support data collection and cleanup after events or campaigns.

Content Creation & Design
Develop engaging and brand-aligned content for various platforms.

• Draft written content for newsletters, social media, and website updates.
• Design visual assets using tools like Canva (or similar).
• Ensure consistency with the Chamber’s tone of voice and visual identity.

Digital Marketing
Contribute to the Chamber’s online presence and outreach.

• Support the scheduling and publishing of posts across social media platforms.
• Assist in drafting and sending out email newsletters and updates.
• Monitor online channels and assist in preparing reports on engagement.

Knowledge and skills needed:

• South African unemployed YOUTH aged between 18 and 34
• Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
• Relevant Marketing degree or similar
• Meta certification preferable
• Minimum of 1 year of working experience in a similar Marketing role would be beneficial
