Hire Resolve`s client is  seeking a skilled and experienced Shift Millwright to join their team in the steel industry. The Shift Millwright is responsible to provide maintenance support to Production, Electrical/C&I and maintenance teams in the relevant areas.  The Shift Millwright is the first line of defense.  Breakdowns and inspections are performed on a 24-hrs basis to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, and production machinery
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency
• Install new equipment and machinery as needed
• Fabricate and weld metal components as required
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment issues
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status
• Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment
• Train and mentor junior millwrights as needed

Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent OR N2 with Mathematics and Science
• Must have a relevant trade test as a Millwright
• A minimum of 3 years of plant experience as a qualified millwright.
• Experience in a heavy industry will be beneficial.
• Must have sound knowledge of planned maintenance principles
• Knowledge of maintenance & repairs on pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic and grease systems
• Knowledge of chain drives, drive shafts, fans, gearboxes and conveyor belt systems
• Knowledge required of maintenance on electrical motors as well as overhead cranes.
• Suitable candidate must be Computer literate

Salary:

R450 000 CTC min to a max of R600 000 CTC (excluding incentives)
