About the Role
Takora is seeking an experienced Intermediate Proposal Engineer to join our team in Midrand. As a key member of our proposal team, you will be responsible for developing and submitting proposals that meet our clients’ needs and exceed their expectations. If you have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in estimating and pricing bids, we would like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and submit proposals that meet client requirements
- Read and analyse Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
- Interpret technical requirements, drawings, and have knowledge of Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and SCADA systems
- Understand cost and work package estimation techniques
- Develop knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools, combined with knowledge of design techniques, tools, and the principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop proposals that meet client needs
Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Registration with ECSA or Project Management accreditation, or membership in a relevant professional body
- 3–5 years of experience in formal estimating and pricing bids/proposals within the Electrical Engineering & Construction industry
- Experience in industrial electrical projects and tenders, including Motor Control Centres (MCC) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) projects
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
