Job Description

1. Role Purpose The Junior Recruitment Consultant plays a critical role in supporting Gijimas Staffing Solutions team by ensuring efficient candidate sourcing, screening, and placement delivery. Supporting both the Account Manager and the Senior Recruiter, the role ensures that client requirements are met through proactive talent acquisition. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong sourcing skills and ideally have prior experience in a recruitment agency environment, enabling them to navigate diverse industries, deliver within tight timelines, and build strong candidate pipelines. 2. Key Responsibilities Proactively source, identify, and attract technically skilled candidates, particularly in scarce-skill and hard-to-reach markets. Support the Account Manager and Senior Recruiter in delivering end-to-end recruitment services across multiple clients. Build and maintain a high-quality candidate database aligned to client demand. Draft, publish, and manage job adverts across relevant platforms. Conduct screening, competency-based interviews, reference checks, and verification processes. Prepare and format candidate CVs to meet client expectations. Ensure candidates are adequately briefed and prepared for interviews. Support negotiation of offers and placement administration. Meet weekly and monthly sourcing and placement targets. Foster strong candidate relationships to build long-term engagement. 3. Key Deliverables Strong, well-curated candidate pipelines for critical client requirements. Consistent delivery of quality candidates aligned to client needs. Effective turnaround time on sourcing requests. Placement targets achieved as per business requirements. Compliance with verification, governance, and APSO recruitment standards. 4. Core Competencies 1. Functional Competencies: Sourcing Excellence: Demonstrates strong ability to identify, attract, and engage candidates through multiple sourcing channels (job boards, LinkedIn, headhunting, referrals, databases, and networking). Recruitment Delivery : Understands and supports the full recruitment lifecycle, including advert drafting, screening, interviewing, reference checking, verification, and offer negotiation. Database Management : Builds and maintains an accurate, updated candidate database that can be leveraged to meet urgent client requirements. Client Alignment: Ensures candidates are well-matched to client specifications, with a focus on turnaround time and quality. Support Functionality : Provides dependable operational support to the Account Manager and Senior Recruiter, enabling them to focus on strategic client engagement 2. Technical Competencies: Digital Recruitment Tools : Proficient in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), job portals, LinkedIn Recruiter, and candidate management systems. Data Literacy : Capable of tracking recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, sourcing ratios, placement ratios) and reporting progress against targets. Computer Literacy : Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ability to format professional CVs. Governance & Compliance : Understanding of verification processes, APSO standards, POPIA compliance, and recruitment-related legal frameworks. 3. Behavioural Competencies: Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to brief candidates clearly and professionally, and present shortlists confidently. Relationship Building : Builds trust with candidates, managers, and clients through consistent, professional, and ethical conduct. Resilience & Adaptability : Able to perform in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines, while remaining flexible to shifting client needs. Problem Solving : Demonstrates logical thinking and initiative in overcoming recruitment challenges (scarce skills, counteroffers, urgent requirements). Planning & Organising : Prioritises tasks effectively, balances multiple assignments, and delivers against deadlines without compromising quality. Teamwork : Collaborative in supporting peers, actively contributing to team goals, and able to influence positively without direct authority 4. Business Insight Competencies: Market Awareness : Keeps updated on talent market trends, candidate availability, and salary benchmarking to better advise Account Managers and clients. Client Orientation : Understands business drivers behind recruitment needs, ensuring candidates not only meet technical requirements but also align to culture and long-term client value. Commercial Awareness : Recognises how timely placements and candidate quality impact revenue generation and client satisfaction. Continuous Learning : Shows eagerness to learn new industries, sourcing techniques, and evolving technologies within the recruitment landscape 5. Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications: Matric essential. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification (HR, Industrial Psychology, or equivalent) advantageous Years of Experience: 23 years recruitment and selection experience, preferably in an agency environment . Proven track record in candidate sourcing and placements. Exposure to client-facing recruitment delivery desirable Certifications: APSO registration advantageous 6. Role Impact and Decision Rights Supports the Account Manager and Senior Recruiter with sourcing, screening, and candidate preparation. Provides input into candidate shortlists and hiring recommendations. Ensures compliance with recruitment timelines, governance, and quality standards. Directly influences client satisfaction and repeat business through candidate quality 7. Key Interfaces Internal Interfaces: Account Managers, Senior Recruiters, HR Operations, Payroll External Interfaces : Candidates, verification agencies, recruitment portals, clients (as delegated). 8. Measures of Success Delivery against sourcing and placement targets. Quality of candidates shortlisted and submitted. Compliance with recruitment governance and verification standards. Positive feedback from Account Managers, Senior Recruiters, and clients.
