Requirements:

  1. Grade 12
  2. Marketing, Sales, Business Diploma or equivalent
  3. At least 5 years experience in external sales, key accounts and business development
  4. Willing to travel to other provinces once a month (2-3 days)
  5. Willing to travel to Zambia and Swaziland every quarter
  6. Own car and valid license

 
Duties and

Responsibilities:

  • Tracking sales performance against established goals across different timeframes (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Boosting retail revenue through planned and spontaneous promotional activities.
  • Encouraging sales growth via pricing strategies, traditional and in-store marketing, and sales team efforts.
  • Establishing and upholding agreed-upon commercial terms with partners.
  • Overseeing the financial success of promotions.
  • Comprehensive oversight of retail-level purchasing managers.
  • Analyzing the profitability of each customer account.
  • Evaluating product category management and optimizing shelf space allocation based on market share and sales data.
  • Securing and increasing sales in company-owned retail locations.
  • Negotiating and securing appropriate shelf space in major retail outlets, ensuring consistent maintenance and enforcement by the sales team.
  • Communicating new promotional details to the sales team to guarantee successful implementation across all channels.
  • Coordinating product listings with the finance department.
  • Monitoring competitor pricing strategies.
  • Implementing price adjustments as needed.
  • Evaluating and utilizing customer-provided reporting tools.
  • Administering sales representative tracking systems.
  • Managing internal sales procedures and administrative tasks.
  • Staying current on market trends and competitor intelligence.
  • Monitoring global factors affecting products and their supply chain (in collaboration with procurement).
  • Maintaining current product listings and introducing new ones.
  • Providing regular performance updates to senior management through reports (weekly and monthly).
  • Collaborating with production and quality control regarding orders, returns, contamination, or defects.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organising meetings with buyers and internal team members.
  • Participating in internal and external meetings.
  • Managing pricing and deal tracking.
  • Minimizing pricing discrepancies.
  • Approving promotional pricing and discounts.
  • Maintaining organised records.
