We have established a new Bricks and Roof Sheets Manufacturing Division and are seeking a results-driven Sales and Operations Manager to lead and integrate sales performance, production planning, and end-to-end operational execution across our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, optimising plant output and production efficiency, controlling operational costs, and ensuring consistent, reliable supply of bricks and roofing products to the market while maintaining quality and safety standards. This role requires a commercially astute leader with strong operational discipline and the ability to bridge market demand with manufacturing capacity. Sales and Commercial Management Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share for bricks and roofing sheet products. Manage key accounts, contractors, developers, merchants, and bulk buyers. Prepare pricing structures, quotations, tenders, and discount frameworks aligned with margins. Monitor sales targets, forecasts, and monthly performance against budgets. Expand distribution channels and identify new market opportunities. Operations and Manufacturing Oversight Oversee daily plant operations, production scheduling, and capacity planning. Align production output with confirmed orders and sales forecasts. Ensure adherence to quality standards, product specifications, and SANS requirements. Manage stock levels, raw material procurement, and finished goods inventory. Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency, yield, and cost control. Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinate dispatch, transport, and delivery schedules to customers. Manage turnaround times, lead times, and order fulfilment performance. Minimise wastage, breakages, and logistics inefficiencies. People and Performance Management Lead and manage sales teams, plant supervisors, and operational staff. Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and drive accountability. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labour regulations. Support training, skills development, and succession planning. Financial and Reporting Prepare monthly sales and operational reports for management. Monitor operating costs, gross margins, and plant profitability. Assist with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and cost-reduction initiatives. Minimum Requirements Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Sales, Engineering, or related field. 5-8 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in bricks, concrete products, roofing sheets, or building materials. Proven track record in sales leadership and plant operations management. Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, production planning, and cost drivers. Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. Valid drivers licence (frequent site and client visits required).
