About the Role

Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Practitioner/Consultant to join an established firm in Johannesburg. In this role, you will provide comprehensive tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse range of clients, utilizing your expertise in tax laws and regulations to ensure proactive advice and strategies that optimize their tax positions.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Identify tax planning opportunities for clients to reduce tax liabilities
Assist clients with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
Research and interpret complex tax issues, providing sound recommendations
Maintain client relationships through effective communication and follow-ups
Stay current with changes in tax regulations and practices
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in tax consulting or compliance, including 2-3 years of unsupervised work
Tax Practitioner License or eligibility
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, or similar) is highly desirable
In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in tax calculations and submissions for:
Income tax
Withholding tax (WHT)
Other core relevant tax matters
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Strong understanding of SARS processes and protocols
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in handling tax objections and related processes
