Job Summary
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or Process Engineering is advantageous
Requirements
- Experience in technical sales within the mining industry
- 3–5 years of proven technical sales experience in the mining sector or a comparable technical environment
- Proficiency in CRM systems (preferably MS Dynamics 365 or similar)
Duties
- Weekly CRM reporting in line with sales procedures
- Effective diary and time management
- Timely and relevant feedback to the HOD and Sales Manager
- Performance against defined KPIs
- Number of new clients and revenue generated in the mining sector
- Quality and quantity of tenders/quotes submitted
- Drive new business growth outside of key accounts
- Support the sales team in expanding the company’s footprint within the mining sector
- Improve the company’s visibility and influence within mining decision-making structures
- Reduce reliance on inbound opportunities by creating a proactive outbound sales strategy
- Deliver increased sales revenue from mining sector clients
- Prospecting for new business opportunities
- Following up on leads and generating detailed quotes or tender responses
- Engaging with clients face-to-face or remotely
- Preparing and updating visit schedules
- Providing feedback to the team and HOD and attending team meetings
- Researching market trends and competitive positioning
- Research and identify new mining business opportunities and convert leads into sales
- Produce complex quotations and respond to mining tenders
- Engage with prospective and current mining clients through in-person visits and ongoing communication
- Represent the company at mining conferences and events
- Maintain detailed visit schedules and provide regular feedback to the HOD
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the mining sector ecosystem, including organograms of key players
- Collaborate with internal sales team members to close large, complex deals
