About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Professional Civil Engineer to join their team in the Durban area. As a Civil Engineer in the consulting industry, you will be responsible for providing innovative solutions and technical expertise to clients in various sectors such as infrastructure development, transportation, water resources, and environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting site investigations and assessments to gather data and determine project feasibility
- Preparing detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications
- Managing and overseeing the construction process, ensuring compliance with design plans and specifications
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Performing quality control checks and reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to applicable codes and standards
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff
- Participating in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registration with the ECSA as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech)
- Minimum of 10 years of consulting experience as a Civil Engineer – 5 year preregistration and 5 years post-registration
- Experience in civil projects and structural design
- Experience with running projects and leading design teams
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards
- Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Prokon and/or other relevant software, Revit would be beneficial
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects
