Montagu: Transport Supervisor – Urgently needed posted by Staffing-Jet

The ideal candidate must be organized, hands-on, and comfortable working in a busy yard environment coordinating deliveries of steel products.Requirements:Matric (Grade 12) essentialMinimum 2-3 years transport or logistics experience (steel industry experience highly advantageous)Knowledge of load planning, Trip sheets, and securing loadsStrong communication and coordination skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet customer deadlinesComputer literate (MS Office; experience with delivery tracking systems advantageous)Valid drivers licence and own vehicle preferredMust reside in Cape Town, close to Wetton preferablyAble to work retail hours (including Saturdays and Public Holidays on a roster basis from 8 to 13:00 Responsibilities:Coordinate deliveries and collections of steel products (flat bar, round bar, tube, sheet, angle iron, etc.)Communicate daily with drivers and manage trip schedulesPlan loads efficiently based on weights, lengths, delivery routes, and customer prioritiesEnsure correct dispatch documentation accompanies loads (delivery notes, PODs)Monitor fleet maintenance schedules for trucks and bakkiesArrange services, breakdown repairs, and general fleet maintenanceTrack fuel usage, mileage, and driver performanceAssist with route optimization to control fuel and transport costsWork closely with the sales and warehouse teams to prioritize urgent deliveriesMaintain accurate transport records and reports Send Updated detailed CV
