About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Safety Officer to join our team at Limpopo Career Consortium (Limcaco). As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of our employees, clients, and stakeholders. With a strong background in risk management and mine health & safety regulations, you will play a critical role in preventing accidents and incidents on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed safety inspections and investigations
- Report incident and accident findings to management and relevant authorities
- Develop and implement effective safety protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in the field of safety management or a related discipline
- Experience in incident / accident investigations, detailed safety inspections and reporting
- Sound knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act and SHE systems
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office package
Qualifications
- COMSOC 1, 2, and 3 or SAMTRAC A Diploma or Degree in Risk Management will be an advantage
- Certificate in mine health and safety is highly recommended
