About the Role
The Environmental Officer position at Seriti Resources’ Kriel Colliery in Mpumalanga is a key role that supports the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing environmental assessments, inspections, and monitoring, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute environmental assessments, inspections, and monitoring as per environmental management plan requirements
- Track compliance to permits, licenses, and authorisations to ensure that the operation meets its license to operate obligations
- Log non-conformances with the environmental management program on the event management system and escalate to line management
- Ensure accurate and timeous preparation and submission of internal environmental monitoring and inspection reports
- Assist the Environmental Superintendent with the accurate and timeous reporting of all required company and legal environmental information
- Develop and execute environmental awareness programmes
- Support liaison with environmental regulatory authorities with regards to reporting, auditing activities, and closing out directives issued
Requirements
- MSc or Honours/BSc/BTech in Natural/Environmental Science or related field
- 18 months to 3 years internship or similar relevant experience in environmental management
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Valid drivers license

- Completed MSc or Honours/BSc/BTech degree in Natural/Environmental Science or related field
