Roles and Responsibilities
Nature: Full time, permanent
Reporting Site: Client head office in Middelburg or Minning site in Middelburg / Witbank
Salary: R15 000 – R20 000 (negotiable based on skills and experience)
 
We are looking for a proactive IT Support Engineer to provide on-site support across email, networking, servers, cybersecurity, monitoring, and system maintenance.
 
Responsibilities:
Provide first- and second-line support for Networking, servers, cyber security and hardware / software relating thereto.
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, servers, and critical systems.
Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain and monitor existing cybersecurity systems and resolve security-related issues.
Document and track support requests in a ticketing system.
Collaborate with IT team to resolve complex issues and provide technical guidance.
Conduct proactive monitoring using system and network monitoring tools to prevent downtime and improve system reliability.
Respond to alerts from network monitoring tools and troubleshoot network or server issues as needed.
 
Requirements:
Relevant IT qualification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent).
Valid Drivers license and own transport.
Experience: Mid-Level: 3–5 years
Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking protocols.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity practices.
Ability to interpret alerts and take appropriate action on network or server issues.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
