Job Summary
Job Title: Safety Officer (10month+ contract)
Location: Muizenberg, City of Cape Town
Job Type: Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours (12-month+ contract)
Primary Industry: Construction
Secondary Industry: Construction
Salary: ZAR18000 – ZAR30000 Per month
Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g, NEBOSH / SAMTRAC or equivalent) will be advantageous
- Fully registered with SACPCMP is a MUST
Required Experience:
- Proven work experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in the construction industry
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practises
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of risk assessment and management principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Provide safety training to employees and contractors on proper safety protocols and procedures
- Investigate accidents and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention
- Maintain safety records and documentation for audits and regulatory purposes
Other requirements / offering(s):
- Travelling to and from various sites of Client ( Simons Town, Helderberg, Blackheath areas, etc.)
