Job Summary

Our client based in Nelspruit is looking to appoint a Membership Administrator. The Membership Administrator is responsible for managing the enrollment, maintenance, and servicing of all members and employer groups. The role ensures accurate processing of member applications, updates, and terminations. is to help achieve, using effective actions and assistance to the Scheme, other departments, members, and groups acquire new members, retain existing profitable employer groups, reduce fraud and abuse, and drive sustainability using strategic objectives and key performance areas with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Membership Management and Administration Process new membership applications, renewals, terminations, and suspensions accurately and within set timelines. Maintain up-to-date member records and databases to ensure accurate scheme reporting. Verify and validate member details, dependents, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy. Ensure timely issuance of policy documents to new and existing members. Notify Client Relations and Subscriptions to prepare welcome packs and invoice groups. Customer and Member Support Liaise with brokers, employers, and individual members to resolve membership-related issues. Address member and group inquiries, complaints, and concerns regarding policy benefits, contributions, coverage, and renewal terms. Underwriting Risk analysis of new prospective members and groups. Generate membership underwriting conditions. Benefit upgrades, downgrades & changes. Data Integrity and Management Review all group contracts to ensure that they are valid and of standard on Novus. Duplicate membership management. Special dependents (children over 21 and 60 years and older). Ensure proof. Ensure fees are correct. Ensure terms and conditions are in the contracts. Student verification and proof of study – annually. Maintain and update electronic and physical records of members in compliance with data protection policies. Assist in the reconciliation of membership accounts (billing schedules) and resolve discrepancies with finance teams. New employer groups Generate contracts/ addendums. Audit onboarding schedule. Employer groups Generate tenders/ quotes. Process negotiations. Create group profile. Audit onboarding schedule. Generate contracts/ addendums. Renewal management. Group reporting – quarterly & annually. Contract extensions. Ad-hoc duties: Perform any additional duties from management. Assist with major non- day-to-day projects as needed. Training sessions for Client relations and other departments. JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be able to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines. Being able to work in a fast-paced environment with a proven accuracy rate is essential. Be able to perform well independently and in a team will be required. Must possess effective organizing and coordinating skills. Treat sensitive information confidential. Presentable and professional. Must be able to follow Scheme rules, protocols, and processes to perform duties. Attention to Detail – Ensuring accuracy in membership data processing. Strong Communication Skills – Professional written and verbal engagement with members and stakeholders. Customer Service Orientation – Providing timely and effective assistance to members. Data Management & Accuracy – Maintaining well-organized and up-to-date membership records. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills – Resolving membership issues efficiently. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge – Understanding medical insurance laws and policies are preferential. IT & System Proficiency – Experience with CRM systems, and Microsoft Office are required. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Matric as a minimum requirement. Experience in membership administration and healthcare insurance will be advantageous. Minimum 2 years in an administrative data capture role OR the ability to work accurately at a fast pace Knowledge of medical insurance products, membership databases, and claims processing systems would be advantageous. Computer Literacy and working on Microsoft Office is a minimum requirement.
