Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Sawmill operations
    • Full oversight of all sawmill operations, from log intake to final product output
    • Drive production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost control
    • Track, measure, and report all production outputs accurately
    • Ensure operational discipline, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement
  • Commercial integration
    • Ensure clear alignment between sawmill output and the commercial side of the wider business
    • Provide accurate, timely production data to support sales, forecasting, and planning
    • Work closely with commercial leadership to maximize value and profitability
  • Farm operations leadership
    • Direct line management of farm managers
    • Set direction and guide operations across:
      • Beef production
      • Macadamia orchards
      • Forestry
    • Ensure coherent planning, performance tracking, and disciplined execution across all farming units
  • Leadership & accountability
    • Build a strong, accountable management team
    • Set clear priorities, targets, and operating rhythms
    • Own budgets, performance outcomes, and delivery against plan

Experience & profile

Senior operations leadership experience (industrial, agricultural, forestry, or similar)
Strong commercial mindset with a solid grasp of numbers and performance metrics
Proven ability to lead managers and run multi-operation businesses
Practical, decisive, and comfortable taking ownershipSkills: Plant performance, Operational Deliveries, Commercial Management, Team building and leadership, Production and performance management
