Job Description
The Civil / Structural Design Engineer will provide technical oversight, review, and approval of civil and structural designs for utility-scale Solar PV projects. This role ensures constructability, structural integrity, and compliance with geotechnical, drainage, and earthworks standards. One engineer will be assigned per site.
Key Responsibilities
Civil & Structural Design Review
- Review civil designs including earthworks, piling, platforms, and structural load assessments.
- Approve geotechnical inputs, stormwater drainage designs, and IFC drawings.
- Ensure designs are robust, safe, and constructible on site.
Constructability & Quality
- Provide input on constructability and practical implementation of civil works.
- Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) processes, audits, and design reviews.
- Coordinate with EPC and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Liaise with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to EPC teams and respond to site queries on civil and structural matters.
- Maintain records of reviewed drawings, approvals, and technical documentation.
Documentation & Compliance
- Produce technical reports, design review notes, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure civil and structural designs meet internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
- BSc / BTech in Civil Engineering (Structural or Geotechnical focus preferred).
- Approximately 10 years’ experience in civil/structural design for infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience with earthworks, piling, structural platforms, stormwater design, and geotechnical integration.
- Proficiency in CAD, structural analysis, and civil design software.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of constructability, site supervision, and civil works integration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently on site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with QMS procedures and project documentation standards
