About the Role

The Site Engineer will be responsible for delivering quality construction projects on time and within budget. This role requires close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement best practices, control costs, and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and report project risks proactively
  • Prepare risk assessments and SOPs
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies
  • Contribute to peer reviews and audit processes
  • Explore cost-saving opportunities and ensure risk transfers are effective
  • Interpret and apply project programs and schedules
  • Work closely with Planners and Site Agents to align execution timelines
  • Coordinate site establishment and resource mobilisation
  • Ensure efficient planning and cost control measures
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, minimising waste and overtime
  • Oversee construction progress, cost control, quality, and safety
  • Enforce adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Manage plant and equipment usage for maximum efficiency
  • Liaise with project professionals for inspections, approvals, and resolution of technical queries
  • Track sample and shop drawing approvals and manage long-lead item planning
  • Compile regular progress and variance reports
  • Contribute to monthly contract and site reports
  • Maintain site and delay diaries to track daily activities and disruptions
  • Provide technical support and documentation for client needs

Requirements

BSc in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent)

SACPCMP registration (advantageous)

68 years of on-site experience on major building or concrete civil projects
