About the Role

Pronel Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Finance & Budget Officer to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports and budgets, ensuring all deadlines are met. Your strong financial and administrative background, combined with your excellent analytical and reconciliation abilities, make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and analyse monthly financial reports and budgets
  • Track and manage various project and operational budgets
  • Ensure accurate monthly allocation of expenditure and income
  • Prepare journals and reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting
  • Ensure adherence to organisational and project-specific procurement, financial, and administrative policies and procedures
  • Produce accurate financial forecasts aligned with project milestones and timelines
  • Support audit processes at both organisational and project levels

Requirements

  • A relevant 3-year diploma/degree, or be in the process of completing one
  • Strong computer literacy, organisational skills, and excellent analytical and reconciliation abilities
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Adaptability with the capacity to respond efficiently to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 (Accpac) will be advantageous
  • Own transport

Qualifications

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
