About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Chef for a renowned luxury hotel group located in Plettenberg Bay. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen brigade, ensuring high levels of productivity, consistency, and quality
- Design and execute innovative menus that align with the property’s standard and guest expectations
- Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet the hotel’s quality standards
- Manage kitchen operations including inventory control, cost management, and hygiene compliance
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, promoting team development and performance excellence
- Oversee food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
- Work closely with F&B management to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor guest feedback and implement necessary improvements to enhance the dining experience
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times
Requirements
Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent professional certification
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior chef position within a 5-star hotel or fine dining environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent knowledge of modern cooking techniques and plating styles
Strong financial acumen with experience in food cost control and budgeting
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail
