About the Role

A well-established national road freight and logistics company is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead and manage its Port Elizabeth operations. This senior operational leadership role is suited to a candidate with strong road freight experience, proven people-management capability, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence, compliance, and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time service delivery.
  • Plan, coordinate, and optimise the use of vehicles, staff, and operational resources.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and operational procedures to ensure compliance and minimise risk.
  • Team Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, motivate, train, and develop a high-performing branch team.
  • Create a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline, coaching, and development.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure high service levels.
  • Resolve client queries, escalations, and operational issues effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and business growth in collaboration with sales teams.
  • Financial & Performance Management
  • Manage and control branch budgets and operational costs.
  • Monitor branch performance against operational and financial targets.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing, reporting, and cost control.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)
  • Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Transport, or related field (advantageous)

About the Role
