Telematics Technician Our client, in the construction industry is seeking an Installations Technician (Auto) who, will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing camera systems, sensor systems access control and vehicle tracking systems Location: Port Elizabeth/ Gqeberha Job type: Permanent – On site Duties and Responsibilities Install telematics and tracking devices in vehicles, trucks, or heavy equipment. Configure, test, and calibrate telematics systems to ensure proper functionality. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on telematics hardware and wiring. Diagnose and resolve telematics faults, connectivity issues, and software/hardware malfunctions. Ensure compliance with installation standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Provide technical support and attend to breakdowns as required. Document installations, repairs, and maintenance performed. Provide feedback to management on recurring technical issues or product improvements. Minimum Requirements Matric/Grade 12 with technical or electrical subjects 2–3 years’ experience as a technician in telematics, auto-electrical, or similar field. Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostics. Valid driver’s license (Code 08). Willingness to work flexible hours when required. Key Competencies/Skills Strong technical and problem-solving ability. Good understanding of telematics systems. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
