Job Summary
Description:
Hire Resolves Client is currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join their opencast mining operations in Port Shepstone, KZN
Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper management of the work cycle, including maintenance schedules, work orders, and breakdown reviews.
- Optimize labor utilization within the engineering department.
- Monitor and manage costs, including budgets and Capex, and address variances.
- Exhibit strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Maintain discipline in addressing condition monitoring reports and correcting deviations.
- Minimize repeat breakdowns by enforcing thorough investigations.
- Reduce breakdown repair times (MTTR).
- Establish and maintain an efficient and functional standby roster.
- Promote best practices for housekeeping in areas with installed machinery.
- Manage risks effectively during maintenance activities.
- Drive compliance and accountability during shutdown management.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis to address process deviations.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Degree/Diploma/N6 in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years` experience as a Mechanical Superintendent/Equivalent
- Extensive experience in opencast mining
- GCC Mines & Works would be advantageous
- Valid Driver`s License
