Job Summary
Hospitality Hire is recruiting for a prestigious boutique hotel in Potchefstroom is seeking a Catering Sous Chef to join its dynamic events kitchen team. This role calls for a creative and operationally strong chef who brings finesse, precision, and innovation to every plate from elegant canaps to full banquet service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver premium catering with exceptional presentation standards
Create bespoke menus suited to event requirements and available equipment
Manage procurement, stock control, and kitchen financials
Confidently upsell menus during client tastings and site inspections
Lead, train, and mentor junior chefs to maintain excellence
Manage events from 100 to 400 guests, ensuring smooth execution
Stay hands-on and operational during high-pressure service
Maintain professional conduct, organisation, and accurate kitchen administration
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally in boutique hotels, premium catering, or event kitchens
Strong culinary background with creativity in bespoke menu design
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Solid knowledge of food costing, procurement, and administration
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, event-driven environment
Own transport and accommodation in Potchefstroom
Sober habits and professional kitchen discipline essential
