About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at SydSen Recruit in Pretoria East. As a key member of our coffee shop, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking light meals, sandwiches, toasties, jaffles, and similar items according to set recipes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook light meals, sandwiches, toasties, jaffles, and similar coffee shop items according to set recipes and standards.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation are consistent.
- Manage kitchen prep work, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Follow all health and safety regulations while using kitchen equipment.
- Support the front-of-house team during busy periods when needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen, café, or coffee shop environment preferred.
- Basic cooking skills and understanding of kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
