Pretoria East: Head of Data Analytics posted by Network Finance

Key Responsibilities:

– Lead the AI and machine learning transformation, driving predictive analytics, automated workflows, and ethical data science practices.
– Build and structure agile pods of data scientists, engineers, statisticians, and insights specialists transitioning into next-gen roles.
– Drive product innovation by embedding advanced analytics into benchmark dashboards and scalable client solutions.
– Partner with executive leadership to shape long-term data strategy, deliver 120-day execution plans, and report on strategic KPIs.
– Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality analytics, operational excellence, and future-focused capability.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
– Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related (Master’s/PhD advantageous).
Experience:
– 10+ years in data science, analytics, or advanced statistical environments.
– Minimum 5 years in market research, CX insights, analytics consulting, or related industries.
– Proven leadership in AI/ML transformation, team building, and scaling capability in growth-driven organisations.
– Experience developing predictive models, real-time data solutions, and cloud-based pipelines (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Skills:
– Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and modern machine learning frameworks.
– Strong understanding of ethical AI, data governance, and ESOMAR-aligned research practices.
– Ability to translate complex analytics into commercial, client-facing insights and products.
– Leadership, strategic communication, and cross-functional collaboration experience.
Non-negotiable:
– Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing technical teams.
