Pretoria: Junior Residence Manager

Job Description

Minimum Requirements Grade 12 / Matric essential Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Property Management, Facilities Management, or Business Administration preferred Minimum 35 years experience in property, hospitality, or facilities management Previous student accommodation management experience is an advantage Code 08 drivers licence preferred Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook) Must reside on-site (live-in role) Key Responsibilities Manage all residence operations, including housekeeping, maintenance, health & safety, and building security. Ensure high-quality service delivery and an excellent student living experience. Oversee budgets, financial controls, procurement, and reporting in line with company standards. Supervise and motivate residence and facilities staff, managing performance and development. Maintain Health & Safety compliance and implement best practices across the residence. Manage tenant relations, including complaints, registrations, lease renewals, and contract terminations. Oversee student intake and registration processes, ensuring smooth transitions. Implement and manage the Res Life Events Calendar and drive student engagement activities. Liaise with service providers, maintenance contractors, and suppliers, ensuring SLA compliance. Support the finance and collections team in monitoring tenant accounts and arrears. Promote sustainability and utilities management (water, electricity, and waste control). Source and manage BBBEE-compliant suppliers and service partners. Skills and Attributes Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills Excellent customer service and student engagement abilities High numerical literacy and attention to financial detail Ability to manage multiple building operations simultaneously Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control Experience with contractor and service provider management Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations Energetic, proactive, and results-driven with a passion for property and facilities management Why Apply?
