About the Role
The Reliability Engineer will apply advanced reliability engineering principles to support production and maintenance teams, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and meets performance targets. The role involves developing asset strategies, conducting failure analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Asset Management and Reliability Programs
- Act as custodian of the Strategic Asset Management Plan and ensure compliance
- Address gaps identified in Asset Management Assessments
- Develop asset strategies and maintenance tactics
- Perform asset criticality assessments and risk evaluations
- Oversee work management processes, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Enhance condition monitoring programs and predictive maintenance practices
- Improve information management systems, including EAM (SAP)
- Facilitate root cause analysis and defect elimination initiatives
- Manage asset life cycle programs and optimize equipment performance
- Research emerging technologies and recommend integration into operations
- Provide training and coaching to engineering teams on reliability principles and best practices
Requirements
- NQF Level 8 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance of mining or plant equipment
- Familiarity with MHSA and OHSA regulations
- Proven experience as a Reliability Engineer
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
- Expertise in failure analysis and reliability-centered maintenance
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 standards is advantageous
Qualifications
- BSc or BEng qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
