Queenstown: Abattoir Assistant / Supervisor – Meat Traders

Minimum Requirements At least Grade 12 (Matric), relevant degree or diploma preferred.​ Previous experience in an abattoir, butchery or meat-processing environment will be an advantage, but not essential. Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and work with heavy carcasses in cold conditions.​ Willing and able to work shifts, overtime and Saturdays as required by production.​ Reliable transport to and from work and a strong attendance and timekeeping record. Skills and Competencies Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a production team.​ High awareness of hygiene, food safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.​ Attention to detail and commitment to safe, humane handling of animals and products.
