Employment Specification
Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job)
School:
- Matric
Post School:
- Electrical Engineer Degree/B Tech or similar (must have practical experience) AND / OR
- Qualified Electrician with Wireman’s License (must be excellent communicator)
- Management Development programme will be advantageous
Job Related:
- Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License
- Excellent computer skills (incl. Microsoft)
Experience:
- Day-to-day operational and business management
- Project Management and Planning
- Design work
- Managing a team of people will happen in the future
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, and systems
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical design and maintenance processes
- Solar systems and installation experience will be needed.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- A reasonable amount of time will be spent out of the office
- Physical demands are those required to work on a construction site and/or existing facility, when necessary.
- Must be able to work at heights, when necessary.
- Drive a motor vehicle according to standards on public roads.
- A regular amount of overtime and standby duties to be performed, including the requirement to work on weekends when the project require such.
- The work is performed inside and outside buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The management of the solar department and all its functions, including but not limited to client interaction and planning, designing, procuring and installing solar solutions to prospective clients
- Estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for purchases
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Create and maintain good relationships with customers
- Making professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain records of COC’s and other important data
- Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
- Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
- Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
- Oversee projects and ensure high quality standards at met
- Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies
- Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development
- Working with team members to complete duties as needed
- Ensure the Company complies with Health & Safety requirements
