Job Summary
Requirements:
- Mining Engineering Degree
- Mine manager’s certificate of competence for Undergrou mines
- Underground blasting ticket for metalliferous mines
- Mine Overseer’s certificate of competence
- Min 10 years’ experience in narrow tabular underground mining.
- Willing to relocate to Rustenburg area
- Experience in conventional stope mining methods advantageous
- Experience in Chrome, Gold or Platinum mining advantageous
- Exposure to Chrome wash plants advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage underground mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and production targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with MHSA regulations and DMRE requirements, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Lead and mentor teams, including Mine Overseers and Shift Supervisors, driving workforce performance and development.
- Implement and optimise narrow tabular mining methods and conventional stope mining techniques.
- Manage mine planning, production, and operational strategies to maximise resource extraction.
- Ensure effective blasting operations, ground support, and ventilation for safe underground mining.
- Oversee compliance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement with regulatory bodies and local communities.
- Advantageous: Experience in Chrome, Gold, or Platinum mining and exposure to Chrome wash plants.
- Willingness to relocate to Rustenburg and be based on-site for operational oversight.
