Sandton: DevOps Engineer

About the Role: At Fedgroup, our in-house platforms support a wide range of financial services, from secured investments and life insurance to impact farming and beyond. These platforms are central to how we operate and how we securely deliver value to our clients. Were looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help shape how our applications and data are built, deployed, and operated. Youll work closely with software engineers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to support reliable CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and secure deployments across .NET-based and containerised environments. What Youll Be Working On: Youll play a hands-on role across the full delivery lifecycle designing and optimising Azure DevOps pipelines, modernising legacy deployment processes, and automating database deployments and schema changes. Youll also support Microsoft SQL Server environments within DevOps workflows and help deploy and operate Linux-based, containerised applications. Beyond delivery, youll contribute to infrastructure-as-code, monitoring and observability, security, and resilience, helping ensure systems are scalable, secure, and production-ready. What Youll Bring: 3 years experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering role Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML preferred) Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server in a CI/CD context Familiarity with .NET application deployment Experience with Docker, Linux-based environments, and container workloads Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) Good understanding of secure DevOps and version control best practices Exposure to monitoring and logging tools Why Join Fedgroup: Work on business-critical, in-house platforms Collaborate with skilled engineering, DBA, and infrastructure teams Use proven, modern technologies in a real-world environment Play a meaningful role in building secure, reliable systems
