About the Role

Kisch IP is excited to announce an immediate opening for a Junior Trade Mark Formalities Intern in our dynamic Trade Mark Formalities Department. We are seeking a collaborative team player who is self-motivated, passionate about serving others, and has excellent administration skills to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer regular follow-ups with CIPC regarding outstanding Notice of Acceptance, Advertisement or Registration Certificate
  • Ensure that the information is checked against Patricia and clients’ instructions for accuracy
  • Correct errors immediately either on Patricia or by requesting changes from CIPC once confirmation is received from Manager
  • Advertise Notice of Acceptance in the patent journal
  • Ensure all Notices were advertised by CIPC as requested
  • Report at each step in the formalities process to client and manager
  • Ensure that all MJ applications are reported correctly and in accordance with CIPC requirements
  • Consistently update Patricia workflows for all formalities actions without manually amending them
  • Deal with term list matters daily
  • Capture all correspondence on Patricia and operate a paperless environment as per firm policy
  • Maintain professional and respectful working relationships with team members and colleagues
  • Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the office
  • Ensure effective time management for maximum productive time
  • Be mindful of costs to the firm, such as inappropriate use of company property

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Patricia and Elite knowledge would be advantageous
  • Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations due to workloads and/or deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Client focus
  • Ability to prioritise work efficiently to comply with deadlines
