Our client located in Columbus, Ohio is currently looking for a Accountant to join their team based in SA (Fully Remote). 

About the role: 
We are seeking a Accountant based in South Africa who is ready to take the next step in their career. This role begins with hands-on accounting responsibilities and is structured to grow into a Controller-level position within the next 12–18 months.
 You’ll gain direct international exposure, working closely with U.S. leadership, and will be mentored toward managing client files and delivering controller-level insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day client accounting in QuickBooks Online and Xero.
• Perform monthly reconciliations across bank, credit card, AP/AR, and payroll accounts.
• Support the monthly close process and assist in preparing reporting packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting workflows and controls.
• Collaborate directly with the U.S. CFO team to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience (public or private).
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero required.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP is strongly preferred; IFRS background is acceptable, with a willingness to adapt.
• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Comfortable working remotely with overlap in U.S. time zones.
• Ambitious, detail-oriented, and motivated to step into a Controller role.
