South Africa: Documentation Clerk (Logistics)

Minimum Requirements Matric (Grade 12) essential Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Administration advantageous 13 years experience in a logistics, transport, or freight environment Proven experience in handling logistics or shipping documentation Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, and logistics systems) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organisational and administrative skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Problem-solving ability Time management and multitasking skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Team player with the ability to work independently Key Responsibilities Prepare and process logistics documentation, including: Delivery notes Invoices Bills of lading Proof of delivery (PODs) Waybills and transport documents Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures and legal requirements Capture and update shipment data accurately on the system Verify documentation for accuracy, completeness, and correctness File, scan, and maintain physical and electronic records Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, customers, and third-party transporters to resolve documentation discrepancies Track outstanding PODs and follow up where required Assist with audits and internal controls related to documentation Support the operations and finance teams with required paperwork Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
