Job Summary

Set in the stunning Bazaruto Archipelago, this luxury lodge offers a secluded island escape surrounded by pristine beaches and vibrant coral reefs. They are seeking an Executive Chef with a passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences, especially for those looking for fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The ideal candidate will possess a creative flair, ability to lead a kitchen team, and provide guests with an unforgettable dining experience in an idyllic, remote setting. The role requires expertise in various cuisines and an understanding of the unique needs of luxury island hospitality.

Candidate

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of at least 3 years in the industry as an Executive Chef in a luxury hotel/lodge environment 
  • Passion for creating unforgettable dishes and up to date with food trends
  • Must have a valid driver`s license 
  • Must be a strong leader and able to lead by example
  • Must have good interpersonal skills – able to function as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and initiative
  • Must have knowledge of and experience in menu development of different dietary requirements, food costing and orders and budgeting 
  • Have exceptional plating skills
  • Must be able to implement kitchen standards and train chefs
  • Must have exceptional communication skills (with guests and staff members)
  • Must be fully computer literate (MS Word & Excel)
  • Must have diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines and keep on top of your duties

Candidate requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years in a similar role
  • Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts
  • Proven experience in the 5* Service industry 
  • Passion for creating unforgettable culinary experiences
  • Needs to have in-depth knowledge on Asian cuisine as well as the environment and country 
  • Excellent communication skills with both guests and staff alike 
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Must be able to provide world-class hospitality and service standards 
  • Be able to manage and lead a team of staff

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to lead the kitchen of a plant-based, Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in El Gouna, Egypt. With a strong seed-to-table philosophy, the focus is on fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create innovative plant-based menus.

Candidate requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • A diploma or degree in culinary arts from a recognized institution. (essential for work visa)
  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-end restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of seed-to-plate cooking, plant-based cuisine, and ethical sourcing.
  • Ability to develop seasonal, locally inspired menus that showcase fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  • Skilled in leading, training, and mentoring a diverse kitchen team to foster excellence.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, menu costing, inventory management, and supplier relations.
  • Hands-on approach to crafting plant-based dishes while also excelling in traditional culinary techniques for off-season menus.
  • Expertise in maintaining food safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
  • Comfortable interacting with diners to enhance their appreciation of the restaurant’s unique food philosophy
