Job Description

Engineering Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Refrigeration Systems Management: Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems within the plant, optimizing efficiency and reliability, ammonia plant experience essential.
Project Management: Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that engineering systems and processes meet or exceed food safety and product quality standards.
Preventative Maintenance Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all critical equipment and systems, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Respond promptly to equipment failures and maintenance issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay informed about relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing poultry processing operations, ensuring full compliance at all times.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering roles within the poultry processing industry, with a focus on refrigeration systems.
Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, including HVAC systems, cold storage, and freezing technologies.
Proven track record of successful project management, with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards such as, HACCP, and OSHA.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
