Group Sales & Marketing Manager Hospitality Group (East Africa)
Location: East Africa (Multi-Property / Regional Role) Uganda based

Position Overview
An established, multi-property hospitality group operating across East Africa ( Uganda) is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Group Sales & Marketing Manager to lead and drive the organisations regional sales, marketing, and revenue generation strategy.
This senior leadership role is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing all sales, marketing, digital, public relations, and revenue strategies across a diverse portfolio of luxury safari lodges, camps, and hospitality assets. The role requires a commercially astute, strategic thinker with deep expertise in hospitality sales leadership, luxury travel markets, safari tourism, and multi-property operations.
This is a high-impact executive position, offering significant autonomy, influence, and long-term career progression within a fast-growing hospitality group.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Lead, direct, and oversee all group-wide sales and marketing functions across multiple countries and properties.
- Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term sales and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Establish sales territories, target markets, key account strategies, and sales quotas.
- Drive market positioning, brand development, and overall revenue growth.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Proactively drive revenue through yield management, pricing strategy, and targeted sales campaigns.
- Develop innovative market-facing products and sales initiatives.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities through:
- Trade shows
- Strategic partnerships
- Tour operators
- Online distribution platforms
- Direct corporate and leisure channels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate accounts, tour operators, travel agents, and repeat clientele.
- Support expansion initiatives through market research, feasibility studies, and new property business proposals.
Central Reservations & Team Leadership
- Oversee and manage central reservations operations across all regional offices.
- Lead recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and professional development of all sales, marketing, and reservations personnel.
- Establish departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and performance metrics.
- Foster a high-performance, results-driven culture across the group.
Brand Management, PR & Communications
- Lead brand positioning, marketing collateral development, and brand identity initiatives.
- Act as the organisations public relations and media spokesperson.
- Manage press relations, media appearances, marketing communications, and promotional campaigns.
- Represent the group at international and regional trade fairs, roadshows, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Develop marketing materials, presentations, and trade show strategies.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Analyse market trends, competitive landscape, and performance metrics.
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with market demand and yield management principles.
- Monitor sales performance, budgets, forecasting, and KPIs.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and board-level reports.
- Provide strategic input into executive management planning and organisational development.
Digital Sales & Online Platforms
- Oversee digital marketing strategy, online sales channels, and e-commerce platforms.
- Maximise online brand visibility, lead generation, and conversion performance.
- Manage digital distribution channels, OTA relationships, and tour operating platforms.
Candidate Profile
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline.
- Additional professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Digital Strategy are advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior sales & marketing leadership role within a multi-property hospitality group.
- Strong exposure to luxury hospitality, safari tourism, and destination travel markets in East Africa.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, brand development, and market expansion.
Technical Competencies
- Strong command of hospitality sales strategies, revenue management, and yield optimisation.
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Workspace
- Experience with PMS and CRS systems such as:
- Strong understanding of:
- Central reservations systems
- Tour operating platforms
- Online sales and digital marketing ecosystems
