Job Summary
Our client in Dubai is looking for skilled Gas Tungsten Arc Welders (GTAW/TIG) who are ready to relocate to the Middle East and join their team.
Requirements:
- GTAW (TIG) 6G certification, with recognised qualifications such as ASME Section IX or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pipe welding within the oil and gas, marine, or industrial sectors.
- Proven ability to weld stainless steel, carbon steel, and nickel alloys.
- Thorough understanding of welding procedures and experience working in high-pressure environments.
- Familiarity with welding codes and standards such as API 1104, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1.
- Strong ability to perform welds in confined spaces and under challenging conditions.
- Proficiency with NDT methods such as X-ray or ultrasonic testing. (Preferred).
- Experience working in cross-border projects or large-scale industrial environments. (Preferred).
Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding in the 6G position on various pipe materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures, and blueprints to execute precise welds.
- Conduct weld inspections using Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as X-ray and ultrasonic testing to ensure quality.
- Perform pre-weld preparations such as cleaning, beveling, and aligning pipes for welding.
- Maintain and operate GTAW equipment effectively, ensuring the weld meets ASME Section IX standards.
- Work in adherence to safety guidelines, following all relevant OHS standards and wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Collaborate with the engineering team to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct post-welding repairs and refinements when necessary, ensuring weld integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of completed work for quality assurance and reporting purposes.
