Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Front Office Manager with experience in large-scale 4 or 5-star hotels to lead our front-of-house team and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Reporting to the Director of Front Office, you will oversee the smooth running of all front office operations, ensuring service excellence, revenue growth, and the development of a motivated, guest-centric team. This role requires an energetic leader who is equally comfortable engaging with guests in the lobby as they are driving innovation, operational efficiency, and team performance behind the scenes.
Experience & Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in front office roles, with at least 2 years in Front Office Management in large-scale 4 or 5-star hotels

Opera PMS experience essential

Matric certificate (Grade 12); hospitality qualification or diploma advantageous

Strong knowledge of hotel operations, loyalty programmes, and revenue management principles

Proven track record in guest relations, conflict resolution, and team leadership

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
-
Professional, confident, and guest-centric approach to luxury hospitality

Must hold a valid South African ID

Key competencies: Guest-centric leadership, operational precision, sales and upselling ability, people development, adaptability, and sound judgment
Duties & Responsibilities

Be present in the lobby daily, welcoming guests, engaging meaningfully, and setting the tone for exceptional service

Oversee all front office systems (Opera PMS and related interfaces) ensuring accurate guest data and smooth processes

Drive upselling opportunities, manage loyalty programme standards, and ensure accurate reporting of enrolment and benefits

Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing front office team; manage daily training, maintain training calendars, and conduct return-to-work interviews

Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between front office and other hotel departments

Oversee daily banking, parking reconciliations, PM accounts, and bill backs, ensuring compliance with cashless processes and minimising revenue loss

Work alongside the Guest Experience Manager to enhance the overall guest journey

Maintain full knowledge of hotel policies, SOPs, fire, security, and emergency procedures, ensuring departmental compliance

Act as the operational lead for multiple departments in the absence of senior management
