Job Summary

Job Title Human Resources Practitioner Department Human Resources Reports to Human Resources Director GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TASKS Recruitment and Selection Assisting departmental heads with job specification and design Type vacancies and place on internal notice boards. Liaise with recruitment agencies re-needs and negotiate recruitment cost. Assist with screening, selection, interviewing, reference checks, criminal, credit and qualification checks, receipting of invoice costing and finalize placement. 2. Employee Relations Assist line management with disciplinary notifications. dealing effectively with disciplinary issues, guidance to line management and representation at the CCMA and MEIBC Arranging telegrams to notify employees of misconduct and reporting dates Facilitate disciplinary and grievance procedures and hearings to ensure that matters are auctioned, followed to conclusion and documented (captured on Payroll, master disciplinary schedule and filed) Liaise with shop stewards regarding union matters: chairing monthly shop steward management meetings 3. Training and Development Fulfil full function of Company Skills Development Facilitator. Facilitation and co-ordination of the Company skills committee. Co-ordination & management of the Companys training requirements and practices, inclusive of, inter alia, training needs analysis, career path counselling & facilitation, recommend & assist with internal & external training & the evaluation & investigation of courses with line management, identify & source accredited providers, liaise with MERSETA wrt to grant claims (WSP & ASP to be submitted by 30 April each year). Sending the training control document to the H&S committee once a month. Training Admin -maintain record keeping/filing system of all Company training records (invoices, attendance registers, certificates)/ Continuously Monitor training expense by comparing to budget, thereby minimizing any unplanned overspend 4. Time and Attendance System (Biosyn) Enroll new or terminate employees on the facial recognition system. Act as super-user (make the necessary changes to departments, clock numbers or employer details where necessary) 5. Employment Equity Assist and co-ordinate the achievement of the EE Plan and goals by aligning recruitment and selection, promotion and training practices. Co-ordinate Employment Equity Committee meetings 6. ISO Control docs Ensure that all HR documentation such as policies, procedures and forms are updated yearly. Updating the organogram upon new employment or termination. 7. HR Admin Keeping a record of all IDs certified received for IODs Drafting letter of appointments and onboarding/offboarding employees Attend H&S meetings WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least 3 to 4 years experience in a similar HR Generalist role EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Matric (essential) Appropriate tertiary qualification (advantageous) KNOWLEDGE Good knowledge of legal compliance (BCEA, LRA, COIDA, EEA) Good understanding of organization structure and organogram Good understanding of organizational processes and practices SKILLS Solid communication, interpersonal and liaison skills Ability to communicate at all levels within the Company Computer literacy Strong administration skills Good people handling skills Organising skills Time management skills High sense of responsibility High sense of confidentiality COMPETENCIES Detail-orientated Task focused Proactive Pressure resilient Team player Professional
