Job Summary
Qualifications: Relevant technical qualification (Minimum N4) Recognised Electrical Trade (Red Seal) or Millwright Experience: The successful incumbent must have five (5) years` experience within maintenance (in the hospitality industry preferably) experience within a managerial position is preferred. Additionally the successful incumbent must have three (3) years` experience within environmental management. Skills: Excellent administrative skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to plan, organise and prioritise Ability to prepare work schedules Fault-finding Root cause analysis Problem solving Practical Analytical thinking Attention to detail Excellent time management Leadership, coaching and mentoring Management Personal attributes: Interpersonal Skills Able to adapt and self-driven Emotional intelligence Ability to function under pressure Ability to handle high volumes of work Ability to work both independently and with others Ability to effectively function as a team player Knowledge of: Modern maintenance techniques Managing maintenance budgets and controlling costs Building codes, laws and regulations Health, safety and environment legislation Energy management Must be versed in the following areas as well: Ventilation & air-conditioning Plumbing Carpentry Solar Electrical Basic construction Building and equipment maintenance Using of electrical and other tools Standby generators Sewerage treatment plants Other requirements: Drivers license Code EB Computer literacy Language proficiency: English (Speak, read and write) (Afrikaans and Setswana preferably) Tasks/Activities/
Responsibilities:
Repair and maintenance Run preventive maintenance programs that will minimize service repairs in the long run Inspection of facilities and equipment, e.g. office equipment, furniture, kitchen utensils, motor vehicles, generators, electrical equipment and machinery Plan, direct and prepare maintenance programs and schedules Managing maintenance schedules and budgets and predicting the cost of any future repair or maintenance work Ensuring that all maintenance work and repairs are completed on time and within budget Responding timeously to any emergencies Monitoring the performance of installed equipment Ensuring that there is always adequate breakdown cover after hours Ordering parts and equipment Contacting of service providers and managing the relationships with vendors and contractors Managing electrical energy Health, safety and environment Following all policies regarding health, safety and environmental procedures Ensuring that all electrical equipment is in safe working order in line with current regulations Ensuring that all certificates of compliance are maintained and up to date in accordance with relevant legislation Ensuring potable water reservoirs are kept within acceptable standards Ensuring sewerage treatment plants are kept within acceptable standards Supervision and management of the departments staff Recruitment and selection in line with the company`s recruitment and appointment policy Ensure that annual employment equity targets are met Training and development of staff Drafting and reviewing job descriptions Ensuring appropriate conduct, efficiency, productivity and discipline Drafting work programmes Performance assessments and rewards of staff General Participating in management meetings Implement policies and management decisions taken by the Board of Directors and the Executive team Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports and statistics related to areas of responsibility Assist other departments when required Be available to serve on various committees that are required by the company and by law Adhere and partake in the Long Runs 4 C initiatives and GER standards Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo psychometric testing and background screening.
