Job Summary

Position: Mine Engineer (Team Manager)
About the Company:
My client is an existing role player (since 2016) in diamond mining, with a strong commitment to sustainable practices and community development. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Engineer to manage their open-cast diamond mine in Angola.
Main
Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering.
-
Minimum of 10 years experience in open cast mining operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role and 5 years in diamond mining
-
Proven experience in managing large-scale mining projects and teams.
-
Strong knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental practices.
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-
Willingness to relocate to Angola and work in a multicultural environment.
-
Fluency in English is essential.
- Fluency in Portuguese would be beneficial
Responsibilities:
-
Oversee all aspects of the open cast diamond mining operation, including planning, budgeting, and execution.

Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Manage and motivate a diverse team of mining professionals and support staff.

Optimize production processes to maximize output and minimize costs.
-
Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and other technical experts to identify and develop new mining areas.

Implement and maintain a robust system for monitoring and reporting on mining activities and performance metrics.

Liaise with local and national authorities to ensure compliance with mining laws and regulations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
